This jade necklace is a beautiful piece of Mãori jewellery. Carved from genuine Nephrite Jade. Makes a wonderful Kiwiana gift or NZ souvenir. This Mãori necklace is strung on a braided traditional black wax cord. The height at which the pendant hangs can be adjusted using the sliding knots. As each piece is individually carved, slight variations can occur.

The Adze or Toki symbolizes strength as it represents the traditional Mãori tool, whose blade had to be strong so as not to break when used.
